Movie about a
bank robbery is always fun to watch for, regardless of the quality of a
good story or not. The
most fun part of course, when the robbers launched a strategy and
action. Usually, there is a
traitor among them to add spice to the tension, although this is now a
fairly old-fashioned recipe that is rarely used effectively. Some robberies are quite memorable movie for me, among others,
Heat, Reservoir Dogs, Ocean's Eleven, Inside Man and The Italian Job. Instead Reservoir Dogs
recalled with unique because of what the long - awaited it was never
shown, but not great at all levels to reduce tension. This year brings
Hollywood Takers, a robbery movie with a more pop feel thicker. Was directed by famous director, John
Luessenhop, and starring actor - actor idol, Takers certainly did not
intend to be a serious movie.
Revolves around a group of professional bank robbers are able to commit a crime with a very smooth, without leaving a trace. The group, led by Gordon (Idris Elba) is comprised of John (Paul Walker), AJ (Hayden Christensen) and brothers Jake (Michael Ealy) and Jesse (Chris Brown). They are committed to doing a bank robbery is only once a year to maintain professionalism and make it difficult to trace their whereabouts. But it all fell apart when a former member who has just been released from prison, Ghost (TI) to come and give offerings are hard to resist, to rob an armored car carrying $ 30 million in cash. The problem is, they were given only five days to prepare everything and there is doubt about the self solidarity Ghost. Ghost really be trusted? The question that continues to rage within each - their personnel. Ghost does have a dark past with them and especially Ghost ex-girlfriend, Lily (Zoe Saldana), has become engaged to Jake. This problem becomes more complicated when the two detectives, Jack (Matt Dillon) and Eddie (Jay Hernandez) ambition is to catch them.Given that the Takers are prepared as a 'popcorn movie', we certainly can not expect much to this film. Are very ordinary plot, cliched and predictable. Viewers who are accustomed to watching a movie of this kind will not be difficult to know which way the film is running, how the ending and who the traitor among them. After a robbery that went on 15 minutes the first exciting, boring walk Takers. Fortunately did not last long, Luessenhop and rapid response team of script writers and raised tensinya. Although Takers is predictable, but still it is good for a movie to follow. The climax which takes place on the streets of Los Angeles and the Hotel Roosevelt is very stressful. I admit, Luessenhop managed to make me quite emotional here. If each character is explored in more depth, perhaps the result would be great.
The players were
playing mediocre, some are pretty bad. Who acted quite nicely even Marianne Jean-Baptiste
who plays the older sister of Gordon. Meanwhile, for the only major actor Idris Elba,
Matt Dillon and Hayden Christensen are fairly decent. Not entirely the
fault of the players because the script does not allow them to move more
freely. Quite unfortunate indeed especially considering some
of the names is not a new player in Hollywood and the acting fairly good
quality. Takers actually potentially a good film if the script worked
more seriously and cast her vote right. Such
self-conscious Luessenhop not controlled by letting scenes drama Takers,
Takers may be a very bad movie. Well, the scene of action to save everything.
For those of you who like light entertainment films and do not care about the quality of the script and acting, be used as fillers for the takers rather empty time. Takers is an entertaining movie bank robbery even though the script is corny and the players act with disappointment. But for those who are looking for quality entertainment, it is better not to touch the Takers.
