ICE AGE : CONTINENTAL DRIFT

Are you still looking forward to the continued adventures of three friends, Manny (Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo) and Diego (Denis Leary)? After the Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs who successfully made me laugh until tears in the cinema, then I personally look forward to anything related to this franchise. Whether made in the form of a sequel, prequel, reboot or spin-off. Although it does not have strong support in terms of text, this franchise managed to bring a dish to an exciting and fun devoured in the holidays. Different species of these three friends went back to see the audience of the film on the screen more especially after the $ 886 million of cash pouring into the Blue Sky Studios for wading through their experiences in the underground world of dinosaurs. In the fourth instalmen entitled Ice Age: Continental Drift, Manny, Sid, and Diego - and of course Scrat - faced with a larger, more chaotic, and more horrendous than ever. A journey that will prove a moral message cliché, but it is still important and relevant, the importance of family and friends.

In Ice Age: Continental Drift, director duo Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier bring this herd in the fabric of a wider conflict when they live on the ice continent began to separate as we know it today. Root causes are not derived from nature, but from the mascot Ice Age, Scrat, who is still obsessed with acorn seeds so that there was this tectonic change. Scrat makes Manny carelessness separated from their families and forced to use a chunk of ice the sea as the boat with Sid and Diego, as well as newcomers who incessantly steal the show, Granny (Wanda Sykes), Sid's grandmother is very troublesome to the extent discarded by his own family by memersatukan back Manny with his wife, Ellie (Queen Latifah). In this way, they met with a flock of pirates led by Captain orangutan named Gutt (Peter Dinklage). Here, Gutt darker version as well placed as the main enemy of Manny. Besides Granny and Gutt, we were introduced to several other new characters who could be joined with Manny, Sid, and Diego, into the ranks of the major figures in the next film. In the plot involving Manny and its allies, cronies, attend Shira (Jennifer Lopez), who was originally a part of the crew Captain Gutt, as the love interest of Diego. While for the plot where Ellie became a major star, appearing Peaches (Keke Palmer), daughter of Manny and Ellie who have grown up, and Louis (Josh Gad), a friend of Peaches is a frequent derision but secretly harbored feelings for Peaches. The common thread between the two plots is Manny relationship with Peaches. Before they separated, Peaches had a big fight with her over-protective father. Manny was like a little girl daughter, while in reality Peaches has grown up, tries to be independent, and want freedom. Peaches is a deep sense of regret when a disaster occurs and take Manny away from him. In the midst of a major conflict, raised subplot that intersect with the search for identity. Peaches wanted to join the herd of Mammoth teenagers who think they're cool and popular.

The more crowded due to the screen that appears increasingly in large figures as well as the increasingly dense plot apparently affect the Ice Age: Continental Drift as a whole. Interwoven into the story feels less focused and the main character was forced to share a portion of their show with another character. Martino and Thurmeier is still able to bring joy and pleasure of the typical Ice Age in this third installment. However, there are no special moments that could make the audience laugh out loud blaring meet the theater. If Dawn of the Dinosaurs has epic moments involving a toxic gas that causes this herd - and I - laughed endlessly, Continental Drift is minimal scene that really makes your stomach and even jaw pain most of leads crisp. Luckily there is still Granny, and Scrat are funny though not exceptional, but at least it still makes me entertained. Admittedly, this volume decreased slightly. Ice Age: Continental Drift failed to perform at the three previous films, even if judging from the show progress in terms of animation.
