THE RESIDENT

The Resident has a formula which is enough to make a successful thriller gripped the audience. The movie has two Oscar-winning actress, Hilary Swank, and backed by great actors like Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Christopher Lee. The premise was to sell, such as a combination of a Peeping Tom Psycho. If there is doubt, then that is the film's director Antti Jokinen, who recently debuted the film is its length through the Resident. Previously, he was director of video clips that have dealt with some sort of singer Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Kelly Clarkson to Westlife. On paper, The Resident seem like an ideal project and have a slim chance of failure. But what happens on the pitch not necessarily in line. A carefully planned project can be suddenly destroyed when the execution, let alone who carelessly. Well, The Resident himself in the United States immediately dispatched to the form of home video at the end of last March 2011. Was predictable how the final outcome of the film that initially seemed promising this? Home Sweet Home. This is what is coveted by Dr. Deverau Juliet (Hillary Swank) as set foot in New York. Do not need a fancy place, as long as comfortable and safe for occupancy. Sure would be nice if all of that combined with the cheap. So when Max (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) rent an apartment at a price that side, she had not power to resist. Logically, it is something suspicious when someone offers you a place that is extensive and strategically located at a cheap price. However, in reality, when in the position of the destitute, we do tend to ignore logic and are reluctant to think twice. Juliet in this position. Moreover, before he had to stay at the hotel after her split with her boyfriend, Jack (Lee Pace). This beautiful doctors are not aware if kegegabahannya decisions will take him to a number of unpleasant experiences in his new apartment. From here, the audience was invited by Antti Jokinen to share in the terror faced by Juliet.Unfortunately, the terror that I mean here in a negative sense. The Resident is a thriller that has the potential to turn into a spectacle dibidani boring because no strong script. After a tedious drama in the early minutes of looking around the apartment and Juliet story of love that exists between him and Max, the next minute it became even worse. Terror in the apartment and opened with a clear motive for the perpetrator when the new movie by Jokinen entered the 30th minute. So what is the main attraction when the audience already knows everything from the beginning? At this point, the ending was clearly legible. The events that happened to her was to be no longer interesting and surprising. Insipid first minutes repeated when Jack re-entered her life and make Max jealous fire. When boredom started could not be stopped, I began to hope Jokinen made her end up like Marion Crane, stabbed multiple times while taking a bath to die. Automatic, Norman Bates is Max. Or Jokinen wanted to give a twist to make him as Norman?

Luckily, Hillary Swank played pretty good as Juliet. Strong female character who has become his trademark, as he was to appear in Million Dollar Baby, Amelia, even Boys Do not Cry. For once, he was generous to the audience innocently show off the body repeatedly. Hot and tempting, if presented in the right dosage, but instead it keasyikkan Swank and makes me want to give him clothes as a birthday present. Jokinen also seemed Nayato fan. Not count how many times she was in the bathroom. Juliet as if the apartment is only a bathtub and a mattress only. Feeling tired, bored and annoyed that mixed together was a little relieved at what I expect from a thriller movie finally appears. Quite exciting to be enjoyed, even though the duration is more than 15 minutes. But it seems rather useless to build suspense in the final seconds when the audience is no longer concerned about the fate of Juliet and Max, and boredom bubbling. Too long past the phase of the drama is slow and makes me just want to saturate the film is finished and looking for other movies as the bidder. In the end, The Resident is like Antti Jokinen project is too ambitious to imitate the classic thriller.
